Weekend fun

"People don't know what they want. They only want what they know."

Does this collection of awesome inventions prove or disprove this statement? Which are your favorites?

I really wish the Flying Platform and the Illuminated Tires (and the Dog Restrainer, pictured above) were available in stores!

I like the idea of a motorized surfboard! However...A baby cage? Really? Also, thank goodness the Cup Bras never made it to production... "strapless, backless, wireless, support-less bras" what's the point?!

The illuminated tires are pretty crazy, I can see them not being on the general market but perhaps for certain people (entertainment, car shows, etc). Also I've thought about the rainy day cigarette holder before! It's a bit of a ridiculous notion that people would need that, but I bet much of society would eat it up.

These inventions were so funny. I was looking through them with friends. We liked the illuminated tires, the motorized surfboard, and the portable sauna. On the other hand, we thought the baby cage, laryngaphone, and handwriting game were ridiculous! Haha!
I suppose these inventions prove the part of the statment, "People only want what they know," somewhat wrong. Inventors sometimes invent things that people have never known.
However, if the invention is in fact a variation of something people do know. Then you could argue for the point, " People only want what they know." They want just a variation of something that already exists. Thus, also they know what they want.
